Q1- The soil profile for the slope consists of 30.5 m of relatively soft, saturated clay underlain by a much firmer stratum as shown below, the upper, softer stratum is normally consolidated. The undrained shear strength (Su) is approximately 6.70 kPa at the ground surface and increases at the rate of 1.575 kPa per meter of depth in the upper clay layer (y=y=6 kN/m²).
