The thickness of a steel sheet is 1 mm. The yield stress and elastic modulus are given as 300 MPa and 195 GPa respectively. (a) Determine the die width W for obtaining a 20 mm radius at the outer corner of the bend. (b) Suggest a suitable initial bend radius to compensate for the springback of the sheet when the load is removed. (c) Punch depth is the depth of descend made by the punch during bending, subsequent to its initial contact with the sheet laid on top of the die.
