A steel that has 0.23% C is subjected to a carburizing
treatment. Under operating conditions, the carbon content on the
surface reaches 1.2% C. The temperature at which the process is
carried out is 1,192 °C, where the material is FCC, (D0 = 0.23
cm2/s, Q = 32900 Cal/mol°K, R =1.987 cal/mol).
Estimate the carbon content at a depth of 38 microns from the
surface, (1mm=1000 microns), after 6 hours of treatment.
Suppose that the function erf(Z) can be approximately evaluated
by the following equation:
A Steel That Has 0 23 C Is Subjected To A Carburizing Treatment Under Operating Conditions The Carbon Content On The 1
A Steel That Has 0 23 C Is Subjected To A Carburizing Treatment Under Operating Conditions The Carbon Content On The 1 (42.04 KiB) Viewed 43 times
erf (z) = -0.3965 Z+ 1.2495Z – 0.0063 =
