Question 2 Marks 30 A steam turbine, as shown in Figure Q2, operates at steady state with inlet conditions of P1= 2 MPa, T1 = 480°C and producing 4000 kW. Saturated steam leaves the turbine at a pressure of 0.01 MPa where it is condensed at 45.81 °C in the condenser. There is no significant heat transfer between the turbine and the condenser and their surroundings, and kinetic and potential energy changes between inlet and exit are negligible. V (i) Complete the thermodynamic property Table Q2 for each stream. [8 marks] (ii) Determine the mass flow rate of the vapor, ỉ, (kg/h), entering the turbine. [5 marks] (iii) Determine the isentropic efficiency of the turbine. [2 marks] (iv) Determine the rate of heat transfer, écond, from the condensing steam as it passes through the condenser. [5 marks] (v) Determine the mass flow rate of the condenser cooling water, ņew (kg/h), if cooling water enters the condenser at 15°C and exits as 35°C. [5 marks] (vi) Determine the rates of entropy generation, Seen (kW/K), for control volumes enclosing the turbine and the condenser, respectively. [5 marks] CW
