Question 6 The one-dimensional derivation of flow through a nozzle states that: a(u (M? – 1,90)-0(1) น А a) With reference to the above equation describe the relationship between the velocity in the pipe (u) and the pipe cross-sectional area (A) for: i. Subsonic flow ii. Supersonic flow iii. Sonic flow Compressed air stored at ambient temperature is used as part of a cooling system. A nozzle, with an exit area of H mm delivers the air. Air is to be delivered, at subsonic conditions, into a chamber with ambient pressure of 1022 mbar. For adequate cooling the air needs to be delivered at / °C and Jg/s. Determine what the bottle pressure should be to meet the design conditions.

Parameter A B с L-Imon Value 185 163 1461 290 0.16 19.2 4.5 74 -13 6.9
