Assuming that we can determine the Thévenin equivalent
resistance of our wall socket, why don’t toaster, microwave oven,
and TV manufacturers match each appliance’s Thévenin equivalent
resistance to this value? Wouldn’t it permit maximum power transfer
from the utility company to our household appliances?
