C For both one-way ANOVA research scenarios presented below, provide each of the elements re- quired in the Answer Format at the end of this document. Calculations for the statistical test should be conducted by hand, similar to the previous homework assignments. Scenario 1 A startup is in the process of developing a revolutionary phone app. While they are building it, they want to maximize the "buzz” around it. One of the ways to do that is to run targeted ads in specific online venues. For that they created three versions of the the ad. With limited resources, the company needs to choose the one that would have the most impact. The first step they took was to pilot the ad inside the company and ask for feedback. They asked their employees to participate in a study where they would see one ad, randomly selected from the three, and then asked to complete a questionnaire. The results of this internal study is partially presented in the table below: Source of Variation SS df MS F e Between groups Within groups (error) Total 310.25 181.33 2 15 b с d a Answer Format a. Report the type of research design (e.g., between-subjects or within-subjects) and explain why. b. Define the dependent variable. c. Define the independent variable and its levels. d. Fill in the missing values in the ANOVA F-table; cells are marked with letters. Provide your answer either as a list of values or as a table. For building the table, see the syntax guidance at the end of this document. e. Determine the critical value at a .05 level of significance for the F-value and decide whether the ANOVA result is statistically significant (see Table C.3 in Appendix C of the textbook). f. Calculate and interpret the eta-squared measure of effect size if it is a between-subjects design or the partial eta-squared measure of effect size, if it is a within-subjects design.
