Researchers hoping to find ways to make a good estimate of
a person's body fat percentage immersed 20 male subjects
in water, then measured their waists and recorded their
weights. The results are shown in the accompanying table. The
linear model used to predict % Body Fat from Weight has
R2=51.3% and se=6.8%. Would a model that uses the person's
Waist size be able to predict the % Body Fat more accurately
than one that uses Weight? Create and analyze that model.
Regression line= -60.78+2.16(waist)
For the model that uses Waist, the value of R2 is BLANK ,
which is GREATER THAN/LESS THAN
that of the model that uses Weight, and the value of se
BLANK which is GREATER THAN/LESS THAN
that of the model that uses Weight. This suggests that the model
that uses the person's Waist size
able to predict % Body Fat more accurately than one that
uses Weight.
(Round to one decimal place as needed.)
