To determine the degree of dissociation of Zn(OH)2 in water, a
0.06M solution and its conductance (3x10^-3 S) has been measured in
a cell conductometric, in which the distance between the electrodes
is 2 cm and its surface is 3 cm2. Knowing that λ°(OH-)=149.1 S cm2
mol-1 and the coefficient of diffusion of Zn2+ at 298 K is 0.0702 x
10^-4 cm2 mol-1, predict what will be the degree of hydroxide
dissociation. Data: resistivity of pure water 7.1x10^5 Ωcm.
