Consider an infinite, uniform, cold, unmagnetized, collisional plasma with small harmonic perturbations at frequency w. a. Derive the dispersion for the longitudinal mode. Hint: refer to problem 4 below for the linearized Maxwell equations and linearized force law (Caution: collisional term is needed here!) b. Derive the dispersion relation for the transverse mode.
