2. An elementary particle called a K-meson (or kaon) spontaneously decays into two pions. The rest mass energy of the K is 498 MeV, while the pions each have a rest mass energy of 140 MeV. The K is initially at rest. After the K decays, the pions move in opposite directions with equal speeds. Given that total energy is conserverd, what is the kinetic energy of each pion, in MeV? What is their speed, in terms of c? (b) If the K were initially moving along the x-axis at a speed of 0.500 c relative to you, and it decayed into pions that also moved along the x-axis, what would be the speed of each pion relative to you?
