Consider a population consisting of the number of teachers per
college at small 2-year colleges. Suppose that the number of
teachers per college has an average ๐œ‡ = 175 and a standard
deviation ๐œŽ = 10.
(a) Use Tchebysheff's Theorem to make a statement about the
percentage of colleges that have between 155 and 195 teachers. The
percentage of colleges will be at least?
(b) Assume that the population is normally distributed. What
fraction of colleges have more than 185 teachers? (Round your
answer to two decimal places.)
