A classroom is provided with the summer air conditioning system.
The outside air is at 320 C DBT and 220 C WBT. The air passes
through the cooling and dehumidification coil and comes out 220C
and 55% RH. The amount of air supplied is 30m3/min.
Find out the following:
a) Sensible heat gained or lost by the air
b) Latent heat gained or lost by the air
c) Sensible heat factor
Use the psychrometric chart to find the above values and show
the screenshot or image of the chart.
Hint: Use the psychrometric chart to solve the
numerical.
• First locate the two points on the
psychrometric chart.
• Then find the enthalpy of the air to get
sensible heat and latent heat.
• Also find the specific volume of the air at
outdoor conditions to get the mass flow rate of the air.
