An electrical load, Z = 5+j22, is connected to the secondary winding of a transformer of turn ratio: Np/Ns 2:1. The transformer is supplied by a voltage source, V = 220V, 50Hz single-phase. Given that: Rp = 40 Rs=0.20; Xp=50; Xs = 10; Magnetizing reactance Xm=350000 and neglect the core loss (Re-ie an open circuit at the Rc side) (9 marks) (a) Draw the approximate equivalent circuit with Rs and Xs referred to primary side. Hint: the circuit diagram should include all of the corresponding comprents: Xm. Req.
