b) An analogue signal generated by direct digital synthesis is sampled at 1.5 times the Nyquist rate. The bandwidth of the signal is 4.2 kHz. Assume the samples are independent and each sample is quantized into one of 256 levels with equal probability. (i) Calculate the information rate of this source. (ii) Discuss and verify if the output of the source could be transmitted without error over a channel with a bandwidth of 10 kHz and a signal to noise ratio of 20 dB. c) Let H(X) be the entropy of a m-symbol source X. Show that 0 < H(X) = log2 m and state the conditions required for equality to hold for both the lower and upper limits.
