Considering the presence of sources, also determine the number of independent node voltages and independent mesh currents. (3 marks) (b) Write the minimum set of symbolic equations using the mesh-current method (without numerically solving the circuit). (5 marks) (c) Using the numerical values provided in Figure 1, determine the numerical value of each mesh current (hint: make use of the equations derived in (b)). (3 marks) (d) Determine which components are dissipating power and which ones are generating power, and the values of their power. (7 marks) (e) Using the numerical values provided in Figure 1, determine the equivalent Thevenin circuit as seen by the current source. (7 marks)
