Design an exterior joint (only in normal beam direction) in a braced frame
diagrammatically shown in Fig. (I). The concrete and steel strengths are 3 ksi and
50 ksi, respectively. The story-to-story height is 12 ft 6 in. The normal beam
coincide with the column face from one side (i.e. there is an eccentricity between
the longitudinal axes of the beam and column).
