A recent study indicates that 22 percent of the stops initiated
by the officers in the Bigton Police Department involve a Hispanic
driver. However, only about 10 percent of the people who live
in Bigton are Hispanic. Here are the comprehensive

Upon hearing this finding the president of the local chapter of
the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund issued the following
statement. "It is clear from this that a Hispanic driver is
more likely to be selected for a stop than a Caucasian
driver. This is a clear case of racial profiling. The
Bigton Police Department is targeting Hispanic drivers."
Write a brief (one or two paragraph) response to the chapter
president’s statement. Your response should be
a critical analysis of the chapter president’s
statement. This analysis should clearly state whether you
agree or disagree with the president’s interpretation of the
statistics. Your response must be informed by the following
two factors.

Your specific knowledge of the rules by which we establish a causal relationship between variables in research methods, i.e. the causal rules. 2. The usual practices by which police officers are deployed, e.g. police officers are not randomly assigned throughout a jurisdiction's geographical area Morenolicing resources are assigned into areas in which there is demand for public safety services
