The mass of the drawbridge shown is 2500 kg.
The weight of the drawbridge is supported entirely by its hinges
and the opposite shore, so that its cables are
slack. The point of support is directly beneath the cable
attachments. Use the diagram below for more information
on the dimensions of the drawbridge and other useful
information. Then answer these 2 questions:
1. What is the fraction of the weight supported by the opposite
shore?
2. What is the magnitude of the force the hinges exert on the
bridge in N?
