As you look down the coil from above, clearly describe what direction current will flow at end X of the coil and what magnetic pole is produced at end X of the coil. (4 marks) N According to Lenz's Law the induced current must oppose the change which. causes it (+1). If there is a north pole x approaching the coil then a north pole (+1) must be created at end X of the coil (+1). As you look down the coil from above (into end X), current flows anticlockwise (+1). (c) In b(ii) the magnet is initially falling with an acceleration due to gravity of 9.8m/s². Explain why (3 marks) the magnet will not continue to fall with that acceleration.
