A 26-year-old man who was in a MVA is transferred from a rural hospital to the urban trauma center. He is 6 ft 3 in tall and weighs 200 lb. He suffered trauma to the chest and left femur. Currently no pneumothorax or hemothorax is present, and he has no head or neck injuries. The ET is a 7.0 in the correct position. The patient requires mechanical ventilation. cuff pressure is 38 cm H₂O to provide the MLT. Do you think any immediate changes need to be made in the current management of this patient? What would you recommend as the RT and WHY?
