The shaft shown in figure below rotating at 310 rpm carries a spur pinion E. The teeth are of the 20°, full-depth, involute form. The pinion delivers 20 hp to a gear to the left as shown. Compute the torque delivered by the shaft to the pinion E and the tangential and radial forces exerted on the shaft by the pinion. Include the weight of the pinion.
