If the pH is greater than 6, then the lakes are, on average, nonacidic. The engineer finds a mean pH of 6.6 with a sample standard deviation of 0.672. Can the engineer conclude that on average, the lakes are not acidic at the 5% significance level? Set up a single-tailed hypothesis test to justify your answer. (Note: The critical value is 1.761 for a = 0.05 in a single-tailed test.)
