Two identical coils, each of 25 Ω resistance, are mounted
coaxially a short distance apart. When one coil is supplied at 100
V, 50 Hz, the current taken is 2.1 A and the e.m.f. induced in the
other coil on open-circuit is 54 V. Calculate the self-inductance
of each coil and the mutual inductance between them. What current
will be taken if a p.d. of 100 V, 50 Hz is supplied across the two
coils in series?
