INSTRUCTIONS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMS 1. In the following problems, write the fundamental equation you are using, substitute the values in the equation and finally solve for the unknown. Show all steps. 2. In the following problems, s, v, a and t represent position (m), velocity (m/s), acceleration (m/s) and time (s), respectively. Problem 1. (10 points) A particle is moving on a straight line with velocity v = f + t. Determine (a) the position and (b) the acceleration of the particle at t = 1 s. The initial position is s = 0 at t = 0. Problem 2. (10 points) A particle is moving on a curved path with radius of curvature of 10 m. The tangential acceleration of the particle is given by a, = tt. Determine (a) the velocity and (b) the resultant acceleration of the particle at t = 1 s. The initial velocity is v = 0 at t = 0.
