Determine the number of blocks, the rebar, mortar and grout
needed to construct a 150 foot long by 15 ft high block wall
constructed of 7 5/8 in high by 7 5/8 in wide by 15 5/8 in long
blocks. The mortar joint is 3/8 in thick. The
wall is horizontally reinforced by bond beams at 4 ft OC containing
two #4 bars. The wall is vertically reinforced with #5
rebar at 32 in OC. All rebar is to be lapped 30 bar
diameters. The rebar for the bond beam is to be
delivered to the site in 20 ft lengths. Allow 5 CF of
mortar and 17 CF of grout per 100 SF of block
wall. Determine the number of CMU blocks, number of bond
beams, rebar, and quantity of mortar and grout.
