Determine
a. Draw the Foundation and use Terzaghi’s equation to determine the
approximate
size of the footing (Diameter) for the case that the depth of
footing is 1.5m. The
water table is 2m below the ground surface (GS) and the mode of
failure is a general
shear failure.
b. If during the rainy season, the water level reached the ground
surface, is the designed
foundation (part a) is still safe to carry the 950kN column
load.
