Question 1 COVID-19 has significant impacts on every sector across the globe, and the hotel industry is among the hardest hit. The pandemic has caused a sharp decrease in hotel occupancy rate, and the sales of many hotels drop significantly. It was reported that the hotel occupancy rate of all Hong Kong hotels only reached around 57% in Jan 2022. The main reason is that the travel bans and cancelled events make the hotel occupancy across all destinations have a significant drop. The management of many hotels have considered to design some new services (products) and create some innovations for increasing the occupancy rate. For instance, a 5-star hotel in Shanghai has developed a new product (a special offer) for the residents with children-the "Studycation Package" with four-night stay at Deluxe River View Room, in-room online schooling for one student aged 7 to 16, three meals per day, and daily supervision from the hotel designated butler. Please choose the hotel industry in Hong Kong or Mainland China to answer the following questions: (1) Combine QFD (Quality Function Deployment) and Managing Innovations to help the management of the hotel you selected to design a comprehensive plan for increasing the hotel occupancy rate.
