A car is traveling at β = 3/5 to the right. The tail of the
car passes the origin of the rest frame at t = t′= 0. The rest
length of the car is l0 = 4 m.
(a) What is the length as seen from the rest frame?
(b) Draw the Minkowski diagram indicating the worldlines of the
nose and tail of the car. Draw also the x′ axis of the moving
frame.
(c) Use the spacetime diagram to show length contraction. Be
careful with the scale of the drawing and put all the numbers in it
to justify your explanation.
