Plenty of people have gone through a traumatic experience or
injury that led then to taking medications and then becoming
addicted. You have to allow them to heal on their own timeline, you
cannot rush someone out of an addiction that they have known for
years. You can't judge a patient off of their diagnosis alone. Take
time to understand what lead them to addiction and how you can help
them specifically, not everyone can have the same treatment plan
and succeed.
