Prepare a quantity take off and estimate of the rough carpentry for the redwood shade shelter shown in this graphic. Click on the graphic for a larger view of the shelter. You are only doing the carpentry so you don't need to worry about the footings, painting, or other trades. The posts are buried 18" in the footing and are 10 6* above grade. The overall dimensions of the shelter are 12' x 8'. Ignore the wood deck shown. The decking is not a part of this estimate. Use the following unit prices. The hardware allowance covers nails, bolts, connectors and other hardware items. Add 10% for overhead and 10% for profit.
