A garden hose connected to a house has a pressure gage attached just downstream of where the hose is threaded onto the faucet. Steady water flow exits the hose as a free discharge. The hose is 50 ft long by 1/2 inches inside diameter and is horizontal with no kinks or fittings. The pressure gage reads 30 psi gage. What flowrate (gpm) would you predict? Note - this is the same problem as in HW 7, except that in this version the friction factor "f" is not given. The roughness may be different from HW 7, so do not assume the same "f" here as was given in HW 7.
