While 10% of the population are LH, nearly 30% of the MLB players – both pitchers and hitters – are LH. Further, approximately 10% of hitters in the MLB are Switch Hitters and, thus, are able to take advantage of any match up against a pitcher. It goes without saying that the remaining 60% of hitters are RHH.
