The resistivity of Play-doh was measured using a similar technique to the ont we used in class for the brass wire. As shown in the figure below, a long cylinder (log) of Play-doh was rolled, and the voltage and current for various lengths was measured power supply The experiment: 1 Measure and for different lengths of Play-doh 2. Determine for that length of Play-doh using Ohm's law av for this length voltmeter If the diameter of the Play-doh 'lag' (cylinder) used for the experiment is 13 mm, determine the cross sectional area of the Play dohilog A graph of resistance vs. length for the data collected is shown below, along with a linear trendline fit. Play-doh resistance vs length resistance (12) length (m) You can find the data in this Excel file: play-doh-resistivity. Using Excel, or another fitting program, use the data to reproduce the resistance vs. length graph for yourself. Fit the data (all data points) with a linear fit or trendline. What value do you get for the slope? What are the units for the slope? ---Select- Comparing the equation from your fit, R (slope)"L+, with the equation relating resistance and resistivity, Rup"L/A, how can you get the resistivity from the slope?
