The Case of Chelsea 2 3 5 6 Chelsea is a 60-year-old, who is newly admitted from Chisasibi (James Bay, territory in northern Quebec). She was admitted up North for an exacerbation of her Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) for 5 days and is now being transferred directly from the hospital in Chisasibi to Montreal for further investigation and treatment as she continues to have a fever. --- 8 9 The nurse from Chisasibi's report indicated that she is on 4L of oxygen, requires frequent suctioning for thick respiratory secretions, she has a congested cough, is incontinent of urine, and has an open wound on her left arm from an IV infiltrate that is slowly healing but still ulcerated. She has a Foley. 11 12 14 15 The physician admission orders include a Chest X-ray, urine, blood and sputum cultures, and a viral nasal pharyngeal swab. Orders are to continue with 4L of oxygen, Ventolin inhalation and suctioning and to change the dressing for her IV infiltrated wound as needed.
