Consider the following equations with small parameter ɛ: (a) ex3 - x = 0 (b) 23 – x+8 = 0 In which case is the perturbation singular or regular? Where possible, approximate the solutions X* up to second order in ε by an asymptotic expansion of X*, i.e. calculate xo + exı + €2.22. Determine the values of the approximation for ε = 10-2. The “exact” zeros for b) are xI -1.004962991944001, II 0.994961991643881, 0.010001000300120 = III 1
