Q4. (London theory.) Assume that we are discussing a long cylinder with a radius (R) much larger than the London penetration depth (12). Start with London's theory and what is predicts for the magnetic field. Use Maxwell's equations to obtain the current density. Assume that there is a critical magnetic field and obtain the critical current from that. Q5. (Ginzburg-Landau theory.) Based on both GL equations, find the supercurrent velocity (vs) which will yield the maximal current (s). Hence, obtain an expression for the critical current and explain the dependencies.
