Problem 7-2. w = 0 m Assume that the axial distribution of the linear heat rate of the average fuel pin in the above PWR reactor can be given as q'(z) = q ocos(7), where ò'o = 20000 If the inlet coolant temperature is 270°C and the mass flow rate in the coolant channel of the average pin is 0.2935 kg/s, a) determine the outlet coolant temperature in the average coolant channel; b) plot the axial temperature distribution of the coolant within the average coolant channel; c) plot the axial temperature distribution of the cladding inner and outer surfaces of the average pin; d) plot the axial temperature distribution of the centerline and the outer fuel surface of the average pin, assuming that the integral average of the fuel's heat conductivity is 2.8 W/(mK). e) Determine the maximum of the cladding outer surface temperature and its axial location.
