4. In any sound system, ultimate quality depends on the speakers. A system's speaker is the component that takes the electronic signal stored on things like CDs, tapes and DVDs and turns it back into actual sound that we can hear. At their heart, they are remarkably simple electromechanical devices. A voltage is typically applied across the terminals of the loudspeaker and the "cone" moves in and out causing pressure waves perceived as sound. A cutaway image of a loudspeaker is shown below. As a current passes through the coil, a force is generated that moves the cone, which is proportional to the current through the inductor. As the cone moves, a back emf is generated in the coil, which is proportional to the velocity of the cone. A schematic is as follows: M R L 27 B V С N Develop a mathematical model for the speaker with the applied voltage as the input and the speaker position and velocity as the outputs, and visiz as outputs Construct a simulink model.
