A load of 12 MW, with power factor 0.8 lagging, is supplied at a
voltage level of 11 kV. The impedance of the line between the point
of common coupling (PCC) and the load connection point
is Z = (0.4+j0.9) ΩΩ. Power factor of the load is
further improved to 1 (unity power factor operation) by adding the
reactive power compensator at the load connection point.
