Evaluation Results: Speech Reception Thresholds (SRTs) testing of auditory processing was in good agreement with other hearing assessments.
R ear: 40 dB HL, l ear: 25 dB HL (Normal range is 0-25 dB HL). Computerized word recognition testing was 84 percent correct when the words were presented at 60 dB HL in quiet in the right ear and 84 percent correct in the left ear at a 50 dB HL presentation level. Adding a +10 signal to noise ratio, he received a 56 percent correct in the left ear. Interpretation: Poor word recognition in noise, unaided in the left ear. Mild to moderately severe, mixed hearing loss, bilaterally with normal tympanograms from last visit. I fitted him with Bilateral Agil Pro MiniRITE binaural aids today.
