Mr. Bridge is a 35-year-old African American man who is a professor who goes to see his PCP for persistent headaches. He is 5'7", weight 210 lbs, temp 98.8, p 82, resp 14, B/P 160/100. He smokes about half a pack a day. He has a heavy academic schedule and rarely exercises. He eats a lot of take-out from local restaurants. His mother and uncle both have hypertension.
1. Is Mr. Bridge at risk for cardiovascular disease and if so, what are his risk factors, and which risk factors are modifiable and nonmodifiable?
2. Which data is abnormal and what are the normal ranges?
3. What type of diet would be indicated for Mr. Bridges? What food would be included in the diet and what should be avoided?
Thanks for your assitance
