A ball is thrown up onto the roof of a shed where it rolls uptowards the peak of the roof, stops and then rolls back down to theground. The pitch of the roof is such that the surface of the roofmakes an angle of 42 degrees with respect to the horizontal. Theball rolls straight down 8.2 feet long the surface of the roofbefore it fall 8.5 feet to the ground and bounces and rolls 18.0feet along the flat level ground below in a direction directly awayfrom the shed before coming to a complete stop. How far (in ft)does the ball end up away from the starting point on the roofbefore it started to fall back down? (Determine the magnitude ofthe displacement of the ball between the starting and finallocations shown in the diagram?)
