3) Lost Astronaut Tourists (9points) You and your best friend are on Orville's-Out-Of-This-World-Outer-Space-Tour. You wake up on a Tuesday and can not remember if you are on the Moon or Mars. You look around and find a pendulum of length 0.5 m and a stopwatch. You measure the amount of time it takes for your pendulum to complete 10 full to and fro cycles. This time is 35 seconds. 3a. What is the period of your pendulum? Hint: Remember that period is seconds per cycle. 3b. After you complete this exercise, you realize you are on the Moon, where g=1.6 m/s2. Verify that the answer you got for 3 a is the period of your pendulum, by putting the appropriate numbers into the equation for period of a pendulum. The Period of a pendulum is given by T=2πgL (Note that you are not using g=10 m/s2, because we are on the moon.)
