Solve the problems below Homework #35 Handout Problem #1 Monochromatic, coherent light is directed through two narrow, closely spaced slits. The wavelength of the light is 660nm. The following pattern is observed on the wall a distance of 5m away. In this picture the gray boxes correspond to bright spots on the wall, and blank spaces correspond to dark spots. The distance from the center of the pattern to the third bright spot is measured to be 12 cm as shown 12cm center (a) Calculate the distance between the slits. (b) Calculate the width of the slits. (Hint: Which bright spots are missing?)
