Two pendulums of length L are beside one another. When at rest
in the equilibrium positions, the bobs, which are spheres of the
same radius, touch one another. One pendulum is displaced from
equilibrium by an angle θ away from the other pendulum. Then the
displaced pendulum is released from rest. If the collision of the
bobs is elastic, and the mass of the bob that is moving before the
collision is half the mass of the bob that is stationary before the
collision, find the velocities of the bobs immediately after the
collision and the maximum heights to which they travel.
