CASE STUDY History of present illness: Fourteen-year-old Ali has been complaining of weakness that has lasted for 3 weeks now. When he added excessive urination, abdominal pain, vomiting and muscle cramps to his complaint, the patient was referred to the emergency room and was hospitalized. Anthropometric measurements: Weight: 50 kg Length: 170 cm Health history: She was born at 39 weeks of gestation with normal spontaneous vaginal delivery. Her mother does not remember her birth height and weight. Family history: Type II Diabetes Mellitus in grandfather (+) Growth-development: Suitable for age. Vital signs: Body temperature (tympanic): 36.3, pulse (radial): 108/min, respiratory rate: 30/min, BP: 100/60 mmHg Physical Assessment Digestive system: There is smell of acetone in the mouth, abdominal pain (+) Respiratory system: Kussmaul breathing (+) Urinary system: Polyuria (+), pollakiuria (+) Skin: Turgor decreased, mucous membranes dry Other systems are usual. Lab findings Blood glucose value: Biochemistry: 15:00 369 mg/dl BUN: 17.6 Na: 129mmol/L. pCO43.7 Islet cell antibody: (+) Creatinine: 0.89 po:105. AntiGAD antibody: (-) HCO,: 14,0 mmol/L Blood gases pH: 7.25 HbA1C: 11.2% Diagnosis: Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (diabetic ketoasidosis) Doctor's order: Humolog Insulin (6 IU, 6 IU, 7 IU) Lantus Insulin (20 IU) The Reaction of the Child and the Family to the Illness: The mother stated that she was very sad that her child was diagnosed with diabetes, and that she blamed herself for noticing late. He is worried that his friends will hear about his illness, he is sad because he was unable to go to school due to hospitalization.

Explain the mechanism of action and the route of administration of Humulog and Lantus insulins in the treatment protocol of Ali. 10.
