5. (6 points) Relative fitness (w) for light colored mice on lava flows has been estimated to be 0.61, when itness for dark mice is scaled to 1. Mice carrying a Tallele at the MC1r gene have dark coats, and T is dominant to C. In a lava flow population of New Mexican pocket mice, the following genotype frequencies are observed: freq(TT): 0.36 freq(TC): 0.48 freq(CC): 0.16 a) What is the fitness of the TC genotype? b) Calculate the change in frequency of the T allele in the population due to selection in one generation. Assume that there is random mating occurring. Is the T allele increasing or decreasing in frequency in the population?
