An entertainment researcher was interested in whether
individuals working in four different departments of a movie
production differed in the amount of pride they felt toward the
final cut of the movie. The researcher randomly surveyed three
employees from each of four different production departments using
a pride scale with higher scores meaning more pride in the final
product and lower scores meaning less pride in the final product.
The scores for each employee were as follows:
Was there a significant difference in pride among employees
working on different aspects of the movie at the .05 significance
level?
Carry out the five steps of hypothesis testing.
Calculate the effect size.
Explain your answer to someone who understands everything
involved in conducting a t-test for independent means but
is unfamiliar with the analysis of variance.
