(a) Verify that f(y(@) belongs to an exponential family in canonical form. (b) Determine the maximum likelihood estimator of O by solving the generalized moment equa- tions as discussed in our course notes titled Exponential Families and Maximum Likelihood Estimation. Note that this is the Lomax distribution which has been used in actuarial science as a model of business failures.
